All day I was nervous again, worried about a missed miscarriage. But I am a natural worrier, so there's that. I lay down in the chair and got a surprise when the Tech put the gel on me and it was warm! I had always thought it would be cold! Techie put the ultrasound wand down and I immediately saw our little Stromageddon hanging out. What a sight for sore eyes. Then, Techie turned the sound on and we heard the beautiful sound of heartbeat. Our little Stormy's heart is beating at 158 BPM. How incredible! I am really growing a human!
Next, the Tech moved the wand around for a while, then decided it was time to wake baby up, as he/she was sleeping. It took forever for Stormy to wake up. The Tech was wiggling the wand over and over, and Stormy was clearly having none of it. Eventually the Tech had me turn on my side, which was enough to get Stormy to wake up. The sight of him/her wiggling around and doing flips in there was so amazing and I'm still in awe of what is going on inside of my body.
I'm also really glad my husband got to go with me and share this experience.
Even though the 2nd trimester doesn't technically start until 13w3d, we decided to go ahead and go facebook official, and work official! Here's the announcement we used:
And here are our 2 sonogram pics:
Stormy waving hello:
Love this little kiddo! :)
How far along: 12 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: None since last check-in, which doesn't surprise me as I have NO appetite.
Maternity clothes: Ready to wear what I've got, and still looking for some good pants for work.
Stretch marks: No new ones.
Sleep: Interrupted. I'll sleep good sometimes, but if I wake up for any reason, it takes me FOREVER to fall back asleep.
Best moment this week: The NT scan ultrasound!! See above!
Miss anything: Not really anymore.
Movement: Not for another couple of months most likely.
Food cravings: None this week. Seems like every time I get the food I'm craving, it's never as satisfying as I thought it would be.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still hating beef, and I wish that would stop!
Have you started to show yet: I have a lot of blump. Bloat on top of fat. But I think it's slowly gaining bump status.
Gender: Not for another 8 or so weeks.
Belly button in or out: In.
Wedding rings on or off: On, but my diamond ring is getting tight
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy!! but also bleh. The nausea is killing me.
Labor signs: Not for another 28 weeks at least, I hope.
Looking forward to: Being able to finally switch to maternity clothes at work, and looking forward to finding out what we're having.
Milestones: Hitting 12 weeks and feeling a lot better about this baby actually joining my finally!
